Marie Miller earned her B.A. in Mathematics, summa cum laude, from SUNY Geneseo and her M.S. in Mathematics Education from SUNY Buffalo. Mrs. Miller has been teaching math at Lewiston-Porter High School since 1992, where she currently teaches AP Calculus and Algebra 1. As a third generation educator, Mrs. Miller is most passionate about helping students make connections between algebraic, graphical, and numerical representations and how to use math for modeling the real world. Mrs. Miller is a Peer Coach in Lewiston-Porter’s peer coaching program and enjoys performing with her math department in their school’s Vaudeville show. Mrs. Miller feels blessed to have a very supportive husband and is a “volleyball mom” to three very active children. Mrs. Miller is involved in her church as a member of the Worship and Christian Education Teams where she teaches Sunday school and vacation Bible school. She also enjoys playing the piano and running. Marie is thrilled to join the New York State Master Teacher Program, and looks forward to collaborating with passionate teachers to expand her teaching craft and share what she learns with her students and colleagues.
