New York State Master Teacher Program

In this summer intensive workshop Kara will offer one powerful conception of a math workshop, where students are engaged and supported to develop as mathematicians. First, we will experience this math workshop for ourselves as mathematicians. Then, we will use this experience to: 

• assemble physical space and materials for learning to support math workshop 
• understand learning structures for the community (launch, investigate, conferring with students, gallery walk, congress, routines and other forms of assessment) 
• design and sustain a math workshop in our classrooms

Finally, you will leave with a folder of resources to design a math workshop in your own classroom and a network of colleagues who are available for ongoing support.
