Kelly Bohlen earned her BS in Earth Science Education and MS in Multidisciplinary Studies from SUNY Buffalo State College. Mrs. Bohlen has been teaching for seven years and has spent the last five at Newcomer Academy in Buffalo, New York. Mrs. Bohlen currently teaches regents Earth Science and regents Living Environment, and serves as the school's lead science teacher. She is also active in her school’s Student Based Management Team, Building Committee, and senior advisory group. She is a member of the Science Teacher Association of New York State and received the Dr. I. Joyce Swartney Science Teacher Development Fund Award from the Buffalo State College Science Education department in May 2013. Mrs. Bohlen enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking. Mrs. Bohlen is a new member of the NYS Master Teacher Program and looks forward to being a part of the Mentoring Professional Learning Team. Through these experiences, Mrs. Bohlen plans to implement new lessons and teaching strategies into her classroom and share them with her fellow science teachers at Newcomer Academy.
