Deborah Wehrlin earned her B.S in Elementary and Early Secondary Education in 1993 from Buffalo State College and her M.S. in Education from Binghamton University in 1998. Upon graduation from Binghamton University, she was awarded the Outstanding Academic Performance Award. Deborah has taught 6th grade science at Clarence Middle School since 2001. She also taught at Mill Middle School in Williamsville and Vestal Middle School. Deborah’s inspiration to become a teacher comes from her mom who is also an educator who instilled in her the desire to constantly improve herself and share her knowledge with others. While at Clarence Middle School, Mrs. Wehrlin has successfully implemented Green Day, a day of outdoor exploration, for the entire 6th grade through grant money she has been awarded. Deborah enjoys working with her students to help them develop a better understanding of the world of science all around them. She is an avid user of technology in her classroom and embraces the future and the impact it will have on her students. Deborah is truly looking forward to the wonderful opportunities the Master Teacher Program will offer her and the many inspiring people she will meet along the way.
