Master Teacher Kelly Schurr, Melissa Hugar, and Kristina Tomei presented about Starpoint's STEM Program. The process of creating the program was discussed including the proposal stages, curriculum development, instruction, assessments, future plans (STEM: Geometry), and a reflection on lessons learned. An overview of the content from each of the existing courses (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Science) will be provided including key concepts, design challenges, and examples of student solutions.

Master Teachers Meg Helmes and Sarah English presented "Yes, I will Fix Your Computer… And Much Much More! My Journey as a Technology Coach in a High School Science and Math Department" Click here for their presentation!
Master Teacher Lisa Brosnick presented "A Case of Unintentional Overdose" The session discussed the case of a teen who has taken an unintentional overdose of over-the-counter (OTC) medicine. Participants conducted simulated lab tests, interpreted drug facts labels, and learned how improper use of OTC medicines may cause serious health problems. Participants also learned about free online resources from the University of Rochester’s “Medicines and Me” project. She also presented a full day workshop entitled "Neuroscience Activities for Your Biology Classroom".
